Philosophy

“Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.”

- Buddha -

"A great school leader should never stop being a great teacher.
I am a leader, a teacher for life, and a life-long learner.
Each day in a school brings new learning for leaders, teachers and students.

Three things I believe about education:
  • Great teachers earn the respect of their students, through building authentic, respectful relationships, clear & consistent expectations, and the provision of a supportive learning environment.
  • Explicit teaching reaps rewards.  A great teacher recognises the diverse needs of students and provides targeted, differentiated instruction.
  • An inquiry-based, co-operative learning model works.  Students must be encouraged to take risks, make discoveries, think critically, and be creative."
