"A great school leader should never stop being a great teacher.
I am a leader, a teacher for life, and a life-long learner.
Each day in a school brings new learning for leaders, teachers and students.
Three things I believe about education:
-
Great teachers earn the respect of their students, through building authentic, respectful relationships, clear & consistent expectations, and the provision of a supportive learning environment.
-
Explicit teaching reaps rewards. A great teacher recognises the diverse needs of students and provides targeted, differentiated instruction.
-
An inquiry-based, co-operative learning model works. Students must be encouraged to take risks, make discoveries, think critically, and be creative."
